SRI LANKA

In 2005, CSSP was tasked by the GTZ in Sri Lanka to work with local project coordinators on developing awareness for mediation and conflict resolution. In addition, we participated in a roundtable discussion on the issues and challenges of the peace process for NGOs and on sharing experiences from the Bosnian and Sri Lankan perspectives. While efforts in Sri Lanka were suspended at the end of 2005 due to the escalation of the conflict, CSSP continues to monitor developments in the country and to maintain contact with colleagues in the field. In the event of new initiatives towards peace and stability, CSSP will reinitiate its efforts.
