PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS

CSSP works with key leaders at multiple levels to build their skills in negotiation and mediation.  Specifically, we focus on problem-solving, leadership, gender awareness, interethnic relations, and confidence-building.  Our trainings range from local project coordinators to municipal leaders to international organizations.

Our training program has two distinct pillars: Interactive Problem-Solving Workshops (PSW) and Mediation Training for Professionals (MTP). PSWs are geared towards supporting Integrative Mediation processes. Participants are municipal leaders, IDP representatives and other stakeholders. MTPs are for professionals in international institutions, universities and other organizations. Participants are working or will be working in the conflict resolution field.

In the last three years we have conducted the following workshops:
In addition, our role plays and methodology is taught at the Brussels School of International Studies (University of Kent) and Magdeburg and Erfurt University. In 2008 we conduct trainings for the OSCE in Kosovo on interethnic mediation and the Geschwister-Scholl Institute at the Ludwigs-Maximilian-University of Munich.

In the fall of 2008, CSSP will publish a Handbook on Interethnic Mediation with accompanying educational material such as case studies and role plays for public use. We invite you to come back to this page and look forward to your contributions and comments.
